Excellent experience! Our family went to visit the planation and learned a ton at every stop. The visit started from the Visitor House, then Main House, The Farm Tour, and ended with free exploration. The plantation was beautiful and serene in winter. Main House was rich in history and the Christmas decor added a lot of colors to the space. Farm Tour was the highlight of our tour, our young kiddos had fun looking for the eagles up in the trees. The plantation did an excellent job in preserving architecture and stories over the years. Highly recommend!
If you’re in Charleston, this is a must-see. The Boone Hall Plantation is both absolutely gorgeous and sobering given its history of slavery. The exhibits are spectacular and there is plenty to do for the whole family. If you enjoy history, there is plenty of that. If you want to just explore the beautiful property, there is a 25 min tractor tour that takes you around the entire plantation. If you’re a movie buff, you’ll appreciate that this is where they filmed the notebook and other titles. You can easily spend 3-4 hours here taking it all in!
We learned a lot about American history while visiting the Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens. The grounds and buildings are beautifully maintained. Both walking and riding tours are available. There's a cafe and gift shop available on the grounds where you can catch a quick bite to eat. The staff and guides are friendly and helpful. Every aspect of life on the plantation is presented in a meaningful way. We're so glad we decided to stop by for a visit.
