A very relaxing and picturesque experience. I visited on December 30th and was reminded that every season has its own charm. I went with my adult son, and we both really enjoyed the train tour—well organized and with a fascinating historical explanation. The staff was professional, everything is clearly marked, and it’s easy to explore. I would definitely return and highly recommend it, especially for families with children. A beautiful, peaceful, and enjoyable visit.
This plantation was magnificent! The grounds were so beautiful, even in the month of December!! The staff was friendly and in true southern charm, warm and welcoming. The guide at the home was equally as cordial and very knowledgeable. He made the tour bring history to life! The tour of the small cottages and little farm was also very good! He truly made me understand the resilience of the enslaved Africans and how they endured so much. A must if you’re in Charleston!
Beautiful grounds and scenery. Saw the outside of the house but we didn't plan ahead and buy tickets online so we didn't get a tour inside but was beautiful none the less. We saw an alligator which is exciting to people from the north. A lot of history in a grounds that was established in the late 1600s. A lot of walking and beautiful paths plus dog friendly outside of buildings!
