Discover the process of making the decorative tiles that cover the facades of Casa Vicens, known as “clavelinas,” the yellow flower motif that is one of the house’s most iconic features. Guided by master ceramicist Manel Diestre, responsible for restoring the house’s ceramic pieces, or a member of his team, you will learn the traditional artisanal technique used to create these tiles. After observing the process, you will have the opportunity to paint your own tile, which you can take home once it has been fired in the kiln. Tiles will be ready for collection at Casa Vicens starting the Saturday after the workshop and up to two months later.

The workshop is designed for a maximum of 10 adults and lasts about 90 minutes. It includes a presentation about Casa Vicens, the hands-on tile workshop, all necessary materials, and access to a self-guided visit of the house with an audio guide. The activity is conducted primarily in Catalan and Spanish, with some sessions available in English, and is adapted for visitors with reduced mobility. Located at Casa Vicens Gaudí in Barcelona, this immersive experience allows participants to connect with the craftsmanship and history of Gaudí’s first house while creating a personalized souvenir to take home.
