Embark on a captivating journey through Albania, a country where rich history, cultural heritage, and stunning landscapes create a travel experience unlike any other. Begin in the vibrant capital of Tirana, where the stories of Albania’s past come alive in Skanderbeg Square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, and the National Historical Museum. Wander past the intriguing Pyramid of Tirana, explore colorful neighborhoods, and enjoy the dynamic energy of the city before indulging in a traditional Albanian dinner to begin your adventure.

The journey then takes you to the cultural heart of the country in Korçë, passing through the peaceful lakeside town of Pogradec, set on the shores of Lake Ohrid. In Korçë, admire the grandeur of the cathedral, visit the National Education Museum to uncover Albania’s academic past, and stroll through the charming Old Bazaar. From there, head to Berat, the "City of a Thousand Windows," where centuries-old architecture and the impressive Berat Castle offer a glimpse into Albania’s enduring legacy. The Onufri Museum, nestled within the castle walls, houses intricate icons and religious art that speak to the country’s spiritual history.

As you travel further south, the UNESCO town of Gjirokastër awaits with its stone houses, cobbled alleys, and imposing fortress. Continue to the surreal beauty of the Blue Eye Spring, a natural phenomenon with its crystal-clear turquoise waters. In Saranda, unwind on the Ionian coast and explore the ancient ruins of Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The dazzling beaches of Ksamil offer a perfect seaside retreat, while evenings along the Riviera buzz with music, food, and festive charm. Discover hidden coastal gems like Borsh, Himarë, and Dhërmi on the scenic drive to Vlora, where history and sea views collide. End your journey in Durres, where the Roman Amphitheater and lively promenade provide a memorable conclusion to a trip filled with natural wonders, cultural richness, and warm Albanian hospitality.

Our tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and very generous with his time. With our permission, he took us to a few sites of historic significance along the way and took the time to explain them. The places we visited to eat were very good but the route and starting point were kind of odd. We started by something called the cloud and had to walk about 15 minutes to our first stop. Subsequent stops were not particularly far but also not that close. Good and tasty but could be more thoughtful in terms of logistics.

We had such a wonderful experience doing this food tour! Our guide Stivi went above and beyond for our small group, sharing so much about Tiranë's rich history and culture. He gave us valuable advice and recommendations, too. The food was delicious and the tour gave us a perfect overview of the city. A must try when visiting!

Albi did an amazing job both taking us to good places to eat, and also discussing Albanian history and culture. We spent well over three hours walking around the city, seeing many of the historical and architectural highlights along the way. There was more than enough food for everyone with plenty of options. We revisited some of the stops since we could only eat so much during the tour. The tour was a bargain compared to what we gained from the experience - highly recommended.

I do food tours in every city I've visited and this is arguably the best food tour you can find -- anywhere. I have done food tours in Rome, Istanbul, Sri Lanka, India, China, and the food tour in Tirana with Albi was exceptional. Why? Albi might as well have a PhD in Albanian history. He brings a wealth of knowledge about local cuisines and exceptional knowledge of the history of Albania. Whether the Illyrian tribes that inhabited Albania in 1,000 BCE to the Romans, to the Ventians, to the Byzantines, to the legendary Skanderbeg and the Ottomans, to the Austrians, to the Italians, to the Communist revolution and dictatorship and beyond, your guide has to be Albi. I recommend this tour without reservation. It is a MUST if you wish to explore Tirana and the exceptional history, empires and conquests in and around Albania that define this exceptional region and cuisines to this very day. Again, the food is exceptional and the tour guide is beyond exceptional. Book it and learn from the best guide in Albania.

We try and do a food tour in every city we visit and this one was one of my favorites. I love learning about a country/city's history through food, and our guide Albi did not disappoint. I'd say this is a History/Food tour and a perfect start to our trip. I feel like we have gained a lot of knowledge about Albania's food, culture, and history which will be super helpful throughout the rest of our trip.
