Gain a powerful perspective on Korea’s modern history with a half-day guided tour to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the heavily fortified buffer zone that separates North and South Korea. Departing from Seoul in the morning or afternoon, this tour provides deep insight into the lasting impacts of the Korean War and the ongoing division of the peninsula. With your knowledgeable guide, you'll visit historically significant landmarks that reveal the tensions and hopes that have shaped the region for decades. Stops include Imjingak Park, a symbolic location dedicated to peace and reunification, and the Freedom Bridge, once used by repatriated prisoners of war returning from the North.
A highlight of the tour is the visit to the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel—discovered in the 1970s—which offers a firsthand glimpse into one of the covert underground routes dug by North Korea. At the DMZ exhibition hall, you’ll gain further understanding through detailed displays and multimedia presentations. The experience culminates at Dora Observatory, where visitors can look through binoculars across the border into North Korea and catch a rare glimpse of life on the other side. This tour is not only educational but also a deeply moving experience that brings the story of Korea’s division into vivid focus.

Poor Felicity, we didn't hear anything she was saying on our tour. She needs training on how to hold the microphone like a presenter, not a karaoke singer. Our tour didn't include the Suspension Bridge described on the brochure. The Gloucester Bridge was very nice but we were expecting the other Suspension Bridge. Paju " market" was a touristy chaotic mess of souvenirs and overpriced products that we question that they were from the village. I would not recommend this tour

The tour was fine. A lot about the history of South and north korea were discovered.

I joined the DMZ tour with PLK and it was an unforgettable experience! Our guide Moon Young was absolutely amazing – so knowledgeable, friendly, and full of interesting stories about Korean history and the DMZ. She made the whole tour engaging and easy to follow, and her passion for sharing Korea’s culture really stood out. If you’re visiting Korea, I highly recommend booking with PLK and asking for Moon Young – you won’t regret it!

Our Best DMZ Tour Korea from Seoul with VIP Travel was absolutely amazing, and the highlight was our incredible guide, Gogo. From the moment we met, Gogo’s warmth, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge about Korean history made the experience both fascinating and unforgettable. He explained complex historical events in a way that was easy to understand and kept us engaged the entire time. His storytelling brought the history of the DMZ to life, and his personal insights added so much depth to the tour. He was patient with all our questions, made sure everyone was comfortable, and even gave great tips for taking the best photos — especially on the stunning Red Suspension Bridge. Gogo’s passion for his work and pride in sharing Korea’s history really stood out. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure every guest has a meaningful and enjoyable experience. If you’re booking this tour, I can’t recommend Gogo enough — he turned a great trip into an extraordinary memory. Thank you, Gogo, for making our day at the DMZ truly special!

I feel bad, I don’t remember the name of our tour company, so I took a chance on this one. That aside, this was one of the coolest experiences that I ever went on. Seeing this area was very.special. You leave the hotel around 7:00 AM and head to a meeting point for a half hour while others join. Then you are off for the day. Our guide was very easy to understand as he had a slight Australian accent. He was filled with facts about South Korea, that were captivating to hear. He shared as much as you could take in. The only photos that we were allowed to take, once we reached the DMZ were in just one spot that you can see on the highway. The train near the border was all shot up as we didn’t want to leave it for the North Koreans at the time. Being able to actually gaze in to North Korea was breathtaking and creepy at the same time. It was a once in a lifetime feeling. Going into the NK dug tunnel with hard hats. It was 55 degrees Farenheit cool down there. We walked about a 1 mile walk straight down a steep walkway, I was a bit short of breath coming back up, but I would definitely do it again! You need to experience all of this!
