Delve into one of the most historically significant and politically sensitive areas in the world with a half-day tour to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Led by an informative and experienced guide, this eye-opening journey begins with a convenient transfer from Seoul to the DMZ, where the division between North and South Korea has remained since the end of the Korean War. You'll explore Imjingak Park, a symbol of peace and remembrance, and walk along the Freedom Bridge, a poignant site where prisoners of war once crossed back into the South. At the DMZ Exhibition Hall, gain a deeper understanding of the conflict and its lasting impact through educational displays and historical exhibits.
A key highlight of the tour is the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, a dramatic underground passageway dug by North Korea with the intention of invasion, discovered just 52 kilometers from Seoul. Equipped with helmets, you’ll descend into the tunnel for a closer look at this chilling reminder of tension on the peninsula. At Dora Observatory, take the rare opportunity to look into North Korea through high-powered binoculars and observe a distant glimpse of life across the border. With a blend of history, education, and real-world context, this half-day DMZ tour offers a compelling and memorable insight into Korea’s divided past and ongoing hopes for peace.

Had an amazing time with our tour guide Simba on the DMZ tour with PLK travel! She was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond what I could have ever expected from a tour guide in this experience. She recommended her favourite skin care products even (which is huge for me! lol). She was really funny and engaging during her explanations, she took photos of everyone if they needed them (especially during the suspension bridge part). Her attitude and energy is top notch and we’re lucky to have had her!

Big shout-out to Moonyoung our tour guide for an incredible DMZ tour! She’s the perfect mix of super knowledgeable and genuinely fun — the type of guide who can break down complex history one minute and have you laughing the next. Her passion for Korea and the DMZ really shows, and it made the whole experience feel special. If you’re thinking about doing this tour, go with PLK Travel Group and cross your fingers you get Moonyoung — she’s a legend. 🇰🇷👏

Charles led our DMZ tour and it was amazing! The way he explained facts was captivating and his English was so easy to follow along with. The tour itself was so intriguing - fair warning you can’t take your phone/photos in the tunnel & observation deck - but to see both with your own eyes is incredible. We added the suspension bridge over the lake too and it was so gorgeous (but very high up and long). I would definitely recommend this as a MUST DO activity when visiting Korea (and if you can get Charles as a tour guide!!).

We really enjoyed our DMZ tour with our guide, Paul! He explained everything clearly and succinctly, and shared many interesting stories that brought the history to life. He was also very funny and engaging, which made the tour even more enjoyable. Paul gave us great photo tips and pointed out things to note that we might have otherwise missed. Highly recommend joining a DMZ tour with him!

The DMZ tour through PLK Travel with tour guide, Jay, was an excellent experience. It was so interesting to hear about the history, current tension, and hopes for reunification between North and South Korea. The sights along the way give glimpses of rural Korean life and beautiful views of the mountains, rivers, forests, and farm lands. The bus accommodations, facilities, and food stops along the way were very nice as well. The DMZ tour is a must do!
