I had the most beautiful full-day tour. Everything felt well-organized and the staging area set-up was lovely (warming cabin with a fire, bird feeders attracting local wildlife, clean and spacious outhouse facilities). Just to be there is a respite. I would go just for the setting. Their property is gorgeous, with varying terrain of lakes, ponds, granite hills, sugar bush, and the typical mixed local forest. We were lucky to have had a fresh snowfall the night before, so we got to see lots of fresh animal tracks (otter slides)! As for the sledding, it was my first time, and I knew I was in good hands. When the dogs arrived I could tell they were happy and loved. They were so excited to get running, and the feeling was contagious. The energy built-up in all of us there as the teams got hooked up. I enjoyed acquainting myself with my dogs and their unique personalities throughout the tour. The sledding was both exhilarating and peaceful, in turns. Great exercise, but then there was always an appreciated downslope or flat area after a climb uphill. Lots of well-timed breaks too, for drivers and dogs! The guides tell you that as the driver you are also part of the team, the 7th dog, and it is a nice feeling to share that physical accomplishment with the dogs. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in outdoor/nature experiences, who wants to try a truly special sport, and who wants to support real-world cultural activities that teach us about our environment and ourselves.
This was such an amazing experience, I can’t recommend it enough. The guides are so knowledgeable, the dogs are all so sweet and excited to be out on the trail with you. It was a beautiful setting and I would encourage everyone tk visit Winter Dance!
Absolutely amazing!!!!! Everything was beyond expectations, from the staff to the dogs and the facilities. It’s the little things that set establishments apart. Winter dance pays attention to all the small details. The dogs are so well trained and loving. All the staff are warm and inviting. Our guides Sierra (hope I spelled it correctly) and Alex were very knowledgeable and so patient. I can’t recommend them enough. I look forward to visiting again.
