Winter Dog Sled Adventure

This two-hour dog sledding adventure offers an exciting and immersive experience just an hour from Anchorage, Alaska. Guests begin by meeting and greeting the dogs, including young pups and retired dogs, affectionately nicknamed the “Walmart Greeters,” who are ready to wag their tails and welcome visitors. After a brief orientation, participants head to the dog yard to prepare the teams before setting off on the trail. The route takes riders up and down hills, through wooded areas, and across frozen lakes, offering plenty of scenic views and photo opportunities. All necessary winter gear, including boots, snowsuits, and gloves, is provided to ensure comfort throughout the tour, and the experience is suitable for first-time and experienced dog sledders alike.

Tours depart daily at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm, with a special Moonlight Dog Sled Adventure offered at 6:00 pm. Guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for check-in and preparation. Cancellations made seven days or more in advance are eligible for a full refund, while cancellations three to six days before the tour receive a 50 percent refund minus fees. No refunds or rescheduling are available within three days of the tour, for no-shows, or for same-day bookings. If the tour is canceled by Snowhook Adventure Guides of Alaska due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.
