We did the Glacier Discovery - 3-hour Sólheimajökull Glacier Hike and it was exceptional. I was a bit intimidated!! I’ve hiking, crampons, caves… but our guide Gaia was so sweet and supportive for those who were nervous and gave us a beautiful experience!! LOTS of very cool photo opportunities, wonderful explanations and education along the way and some super cool scenes. It was easy, but included ups and downs so SOME level of health and fitness is needed. But it was gentle, slow, fun and a real adventure… I would highly recommend this tour. Great ATV trip with our tour guide Bjarki!! Best way to get to the plane wreck - fun, fast, exciting, easy to handle even for beginners. Bjarki is a skillful photographer too! 100% recommend to those who want to visit the plane wreck. Don’t walk or take the bus, just get an ATV and you are all set.
Absolutely the Best Tour of Our Trip! We did the ATV tour with Anthony (ATV Quad Express) out to the Sólheimasandur plane wreck, and it was hands down the best experience of our entire trip! Anthony was AMAZING, super knowledgeable, hilarious, constantly cracking jokes, and made the whole ride unforgettable. Not only did he guide us safely and confidently across the black sand beach (which was STUNNING), but he also took pictures for us so we could fully enjoy the moment. Getting to the plane wreck this way is a million times better than walking or taking the shuttle. Riding ATVs across the landscape was such a fun and unique way to experience Iceland. I would 1000000% recommend this tour and especially Anthony as your guide. Don’t miss it, this is an adventure you’ll never forget!
