Beautiful place to visit. The gardens are delightful. I would recommend not bringing the pram though. There's just too many places where it can't go that you'll want to go. I do wish there was more of an explanation of some of the things in the rooms. I'm sure the tour is awesome but not something we wanted to try with littles. The cafe is also nice and cozy with some dress up, toys, and coloring for the kids. The fires are open though so you want to make sure you can keep the kids away if you choose to dine inside.
Beautiful grounds and "castle". The rooftop and grounds behind the building offer a great view of the surrounding bay. The rooms in the building are quite grand and showcase furniture and artefacts from long ago. I love the intricate patterns on the wooden panels of room ceilings.
Try to have at least 2 hours to explore the castle and gardens. I really enjoyed walking around and imagining how people lived there. The gift shop has some unique options and the cafe has super delicious scones!
