The tour begins with a visit to Auschwitz I, where you will watch a documentary about the history of concentration camps in Poland during the transfer. Upon arrival, join an English speaking guided tour provided by the museum for approximately two hours. After this, you will be transferred to Auschwitz II Birkenau, about two kilometers away, where the same guide will take you on a one hour tour of the site. This visit provides a solemn and educational experience highlighting the history and impact of the Holocaust. Participants must bring a valid ID or passport to enter the museum grounds, and bags must comply with size restrictions or be left on the bus.
In the afternoon, the tour continues to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest working salt mines in the world producing table salt for over seven hundred years. You will join an English guided tour at approximately fifteen forty depending on road conditions. Descend up to one hundred and forty meters underground and explore a two point five kilometer route featuring chambers carved entirely from salt, including statues and intricate decorations. The tour includes a packed lunch featuring local Polish products. The temperature in the mine is around fourteen degrees Celsius so warm clothing is recommended, and comfortable shoes are essential as there are stairs to descend. The mine is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, and the tour is not suitable for pets.
