An absolutely unforgettable experience! We did the 5-day, 4-night Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Reservations, and especially with our guide Steven Tyler, who was amazing from start to finish. He was always smiling, encouraging, funny, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire trek. We did the 5 day Salkantay trek with Hans as our guide and were very happy with our experience! The trek is challenging, but definitely worth it with great views and experiences. The trip was well organized by Machu Picchu reservations. We had a briefing with good information about what to bring and prepare for the day before leaving, and were also well informed throughout the trip. The meals were all very good. As a vegetarian I was worried about the quality of the food, but I was blown away by the standards even far up in the highlands. Thank you to Hans and Machu Picchu reservations for making this trip so amazing!
Thanks to our incredible tour guide, Marco Antonio, we truly had the best five days of our lives. The trek itself was absolutely breathtaking—so beautiful and scenic. While it was very challenging, it was also incredibly rewarding. The kitchen staff did an amazing job catering for our group, and on a personal note, as someone with coeliac disease, I felt extremely well looked after. They were very attentive and always made sure I had safe, gluten-free options. Throughout the trek, we were constantly supported, whether you were an experienced hiker or a beginner. Marco was exceptional at sharing his knowledge of Salkantay Mountain and the history of the Incas over the five days, and I feel like I learned so much in such a short time. I couldn’t recommend this trek highly enough—I would absolutely do it again if I had the chance.
