Had the absolute best time on the 4D3N Salkantay trek. Went with three pals and had a total group size of 13 which was so nice! The itinerary was wonderful, beautiful hikes, challenging but interesting and a variety of landscapes. The food was excellent, the healthiest I’ve eaten all holiday and so delicious. The chefs are amazing to prepare the food as they do at the altitude. Last but not least, our guide Fernadito was such a legend. He was super friendly, knowledgeable and made the trip go as smoothly as possible. He kept an eye on everyone, made sure we knew what to expect as we went and was able to answer any and all questions. It’s amazing how much he knows. Tha k you Fernando for a trip of a lifetime
Me and my boyfriend did the 5D/4N Salkantay trek and Machu Picchu Reservations made it unforgettable! The food was amazing and the camps were also good! We rented out the sleeping bags - they were clean and very warm. It was a hard hike but our guide Ricardo kept us motivated and made it fun. He was amazing. We highly recommend!!
5 STARS, FLIPPING AWESOME EXPERIENCE - Machu Picchu Reservations went above and beyond. Ricardo was fantastic, the tour would not have been the same without him - we learn't so much about the history of the Inca people and their culture along the way, truly so special and unforgettable. I am feeling so blessed that we were able to experience the beauty of the salkantay trek. There is no doubt the trail was hard at times but the positivity from Ricardo and our group kept the vibes up and the views of the mountains made it feel effortless. The accommodation each night was so very special from star domes to thatched roofed houses with views over the river and jungle (and even comfortable mattresses!) The food was also brilliant, kudos to our chef! We ate, ate and ate some more of the most yummy and nutritious peruvian food - some of the best i’ve had while hiking - they had something for everyone and as a picky eater myself that was a huge bonus! If you are thinking of going with Machu Picchu Reservations - don’t hesitate for one moment, it was worth it (even the hard parts.) A side note: My dad struggled a lot with the Altitude and the team and Ricardo made such an effort to ensure he could still remain on the trip - they organised horses for those who were struggling with the pass and transport for him to each nights accommodation. Machu Picchu Reservations went out of their way to help us and make this trip so special. Thank you Machu Picchu Reservations team and a HUGE thank you to Ricardo our wonderful guide.
