Experience the spiritual richness of Pharping, located south of Kathmandu, a sacred destination for both Hinduism and Buddhism. Explore the revered site of Yangleshö, where Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rimpoche or the lotus-born master, attained the level of Mahamudra vidyadhara and spread Tibetan Buddhism. Discover other important religious landmarks including Vajrayogini Temple, Shesnarayan Temple, Gorakhnath Temple, and the self-arising Ganesh near Asura Cave. Learn about the deep spiritual significance of these sites and the stories that have been preserved over centuries. Pharping offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in ancient traditions, witness vibrant rituals, and connect with the calm and serene atmosphere that makes it a unique spiritual retreat.

Explore further south to Dakshinkali Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kali, where devotees offer chickens, goats, sheep, and other sacrifices as part of their devotion. Discover the fierce yet revered nature of Kali, believed to be a blood-thirsty incarnation of Goddess Parvati, consort of Shiva. Learn about the fascinating legend of Manjushree, who is said to have cut the hill at Chobhar, drained the waters, and created Taudaha Lake with an underground palace for creatures including serpents. Experience the peaceful surroundings, lush landscapes, and spiritual energy that make Pharping and its surroundings an ideal place for reflection, meditation, and cultural exploration. Visitors can enjoy a rare combination of natural beauty, religious devotion, and historical significance in one serene location.

The trip takes you to different temples in the Pharping region. They are all different and give an experience of Hindu and Buddhist places of worship. Definitely climb the stairs to the top of the hill to experience the prayer flags and then Hindu temple. The guide was friendly and informative and taught me many things about the places we visited.

Great place to stay. The facilities are new, super clean and confortable. The terraces are lovely. The location is also great, a few minutes walk from Padmasambhava caves and Vajrayogini temple. Good restaurants nearby. And the owners were super kind and helpful. 10/10!

Perfect location and the most incredible fantastic hosts! They take so good care of their guests. The rooms, building and rooftop are in detail decorated with love, from ceiling, walls, till practical things like several beautiful lights in the room and electrical sockets. Great breakfast and always drinking water. Highly clean. I initial booked Pharping Homestay for a few days and finally stayed for more than 3 weeks. Quality/price is more than 10!

We are very happy with our month-long stay at Pharping Homestay & Cafe. The location is excellent, close to the main street, but still far enough away from it not to be disturbed by the traffic. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. A real bonus is the terrace on the top floor, with a nice view of the surroundings. We sat there every morning to have our breakfast in the sun. We highly recommend this place.

I picked this homestay for its quiet, peaceful location. Felt refreshed after a few days. The friendly owner made the stay even better. Despite being new, it already attracts many guests due to the friendly owner. Highly recommended for a relaxing break!

First of all, what is described a 8h tour turned out to be a 4h tour, including time for lunch. The stops included a cavern (that is apparently closed since last year) and 2 monasteries (that were closed to visitors). I was then told to take a picture from outside. The main reason I took this tour was to see the giant monument showed in one of the pictures. This was not accessible. I was told to take a picture between 2 bars of a gate. Also, pictures on the website do not reflect the current reality. A picture shows a temple next to a bridge. Don't expect to see this. The temple was damaged in the 2015 earthquake. That was 5 years ago and the picture is still not updated. The final result is that I paid almost $200 to be driven around and have lunch. It should also be noted that the driver seemed to have a lot of fun driving as close as possible from children collecting money on the streets. I gave 2 stars only because the guide did the best that he could in those circumstances.
