Embark on a memorable journey to explore some of Cambodia’s most awe-inspiring historical sites, beginning with a visit to Preah Vihear Temple (Prasat Preah Vihea). This ancient Hindu temple, built during the Khmer Empire, is dramatically perched atop a 525-meter cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains, offering breathtaking views over the Cambodian plains. Located in Preah Vihear province, the temple is approximately 140 kilometers from Angkor Wat and 625 kilometers from Phnom Penh. Renowned for its stunning architecture and spiritual significance, Preah Vihear Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and provides visitors with a remarkable glimpse into Cambodia’s rich cultural and religious past.
After exploring Preah Vihear, continue your adventure to Koh Ker Temple, another historic gem built in the 10th century by King Jayavarman IV. Hidden deep in the northern Cambodian jungle, Koh Ker is a remote archaeological site situated about 120 kilometers from Siem Reap and Angkor. The journey from Siem Reap to Koh Ker takes roughly two and a half hours, and although the site remains relatively undeveloped, basic visitor facilities are currently being built. At the end of the day, after soaking in the history and beauty of these remarkable temples, we will return to Siem Reap Town and drop you off at your hotel, completing an unforgettable cultural exploration.
