We took the one day Amazon tour with Carlos as our guide. Fantastic! A day packed with adventure/learning/tasting from 9am to 8pm. Carlos took us on a no-trail jungle walk up a small creek with high rubber boots (provided by Imagine Ecuador), identifying plant and animals and telling us how the were used by indigenous people. You can check the list of other activities on the Imagine Ecuador web pages.

Rented a Jeep for 3 hours for $45. Drove very well with no problems and hiring from the agency was hassle free. Gas was included in the price too which is great and managed to get around to everywhere we needed to go. Highly recommend 👌

I ended up doing the Ruta de las Cascadas tour and it was so much fun! The young man who invited me to sign up was very friendly and explained everything well. I paid $10 for a tour via chiva (a vehicle like a trolley). The driver played fun music and explained everything very well. One thing I didn't know was that the tour includes options for a cable car ride across the valley, as well as either ziplining or walking across a very long glass bridge (additional cost for those activities). I'm scared of heights but this was manageable. Didn't make it all the way down to the Pailon del Diablo due to a knee acting up, but I got a few good pics. In all it was a lot of fun and I'd definitely do it again.

We did the Amazon tour with the guide Carlos. I highly recommend! He was very attentive and showed us amazing plants and took the road less traveled to the waterfall. Other groups went to some of the same stops and it was clear that they had a less inclusive experience because they had too many people to do things like cook and grind the cocoa beans themselves. We loved it. Do it.
