The perfect place to experience the bush and the beach at the same time. Our room was on the beach front with an amazing breeze through out the day. The nights sparkled with countless stars. All the staff were hospitable, polite and welcoming. The lodge manager, Msheba, guided and constantly checked on us during the road trip. We got to see plenty of animals during the safari, and elephants gathering with their little ones at the water pond during sunset was the best part. Our kids really enjoyed the boat trip for viewing the hippos and crocodiles. Food was fantastic - five star cuisine , do not miss out on the carrot cake with ice cream!!! An amazing experience!!!

We had an amazing time with the Saadani Safari Lodge team! The trip was organized via Escapade Zanzibar (great company). Everything was arranged perfectly, so all we had to do was to be in the hotel lobby at pickup time. From there, everything went very smoothly. We arrived at the Saadani airstrip in the afternoon and were greeted directly by our German-speaking guide, Papakinyi. We were delighted to see giraffes within the very first minutes of our trip. After our first safari, we were taken back to the lodge, received our room key, and immediately got our first taste of how excellent the food at the lodge is. The second day started early at 5:00 am with a wake-up delivery of coffee or tea. At 5:30 am, we set off for our first sunrise safari. After returning, we enjoyed breakfast and had some time to relax at the lodge. At 10:00 am, we departed for the river safari by boat to spot crocodiles, hippos, and several bird species. After the river safari, lunch was served, followed by the next evening safari at 4:00 pm. As no more German-speaking guests arrived after that, we enjoyed private tours with Papakinyi and his driver for the rest of our stay. Day three started again with a sunrise safari at 5:30 am, followed by breakfast and the option to spend time at the lodge pool or visit Saadani village. We chose the village visit, which was a great experience. Afterward, we had lunch and spent the afternoon swimming at the lodge pool until we were picked up by plane and flown back, with a smooth transfer to our hotel. ⸻ Lodge: Beautifully designed, and the rooms offer everything you need. (The lighting could be improved – the LED quality makes everything look a bit grey – but that’s really complaining on a very high level.) Staff: Very friendly and attentive. (The gardener unfortunately randomly tries to sell seashells from the beach to guests, which feels a bit uncomfortable.) Food: We honestly did not expect such a great kitchen and were pleasantly surprised. Everything we were served exceeded our expectations and was excellent. Safari: The landscape of Saadani National Park is breathtaking, and we were lucky to observe many animals up close. Unfortunately, we didn’t spot elephants or lions, but it was still a wonderful experience. Guide: Papakinyi is a fantastic guide and very dedicated. He explained a lot to us and pointed out animals we would never have spotted ourselves. He speaks good German and was able to answer almost all of our many questions. ⸻ Summary: The Saadani Safari Lodge is definitely worth recommending. Many thanks for the wonderful stay. The place is spectacular. The oceanfront cabins are a pure spectacle. The staff is amazing, and the food is delicious.

Overall had an okay experience however there's to note that it's main focus is for incoming Zanzibar tourists spending 2ish days here to have their safari experience. So it might not be the ideal place for people who live in Dar to spend a weekend there as it is quite expensive for what you're getting and better value places are to be found towards South beach. For the sake of completing your safari park list in TZ, you could come to visit the park but don't expect to see much or have great quality guides.

We stayed for one night and did the safari tours. What an amazing hotel, seasoned safari staff, delicious food and great hospitality. The rooms are very clean and at the best position, just a few steps from the sea through a beautiful beach.
