We’ll begin by departing from the hotel after breakfast to explore Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. Our first stop will be the South Gate, followed by the impressive Bayon Temple, known for its 200+ stone faces. We’ll also visit the Baphuon Temple, Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the Leper King, and Ta Prohm, the Tomb Raider temple, famous for its fusion of nature and architecture.
After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Angkor Archaeological Park, we’ll visit the majestic Angkor Wat, built by King Suryavarman II in the 12th century. This grand temple, with its five towers symbolizing Mount Meru, features intricate bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and historical scenes. Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s national symbol, represents the soul of the country and offers a deep connection to its rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
The exploration of Angkor Wat provides a profound experience, with stunning architecture, detailed carvings, and a serene atmosphere, leaving you with unforgettable memories of one of the world’s most iconic monuments.

Beautiful Khmer temple with Khmer architecture. The temple is well known for the so called friendly smiling Buddhist faces carved in stone. So do keep your eyes open in every direction. The complex is beautifully preserved

When i visited this temple, unfortunately the to at least half of it (maybe 2 more levels) were closed to the public due to ongoing restorations. The lower levels were still astounding. This temple features many faces of Buddha, and some incredible bas releifs. Very uneven ground, watch your step!

Friday 10th October: The whole Angkor complex probably needs a day or two to see everything, this part was probably my favourite. Ancient relics, and then a rainstorm, it all just added to tbe experience. A fantastic place to visit and soak in (literally) the atmosphere

just insane - this was the last temple we visited and most notably, the one with monkeys all through it. they were a bit scary but fascinating to watch after perhaps overdoing the temples

They only started deforesting and excavations in 1993, it's way older than Angkor Wat and you can feel it in your bone's as you traverse this massive site. Completely captivating!
