I took this tour with Urso at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026. The initial introduction and welcome by the staff were well organized. Having the tickets and audio guides prepared in advance was convenient, and skipping the general admission lines with a guide was a definite advantage. Unfortunately, the overall experience was negatively impacted by the tour guide, Urso. He displayed a short temper and was disrespectful toward several members of the group. At times, he moved at inconsistent speeds—sometimes very fast and other times very slowly—then blamed participants for not keeping up. He was also condescending when questions were asked. Even a simple question such as, “Are we going to be here for five minutes?” appeared to offend him, and he responded, “This is my tour, not yours.”. This argument took place in the holiest of places on earth and almost a fight broke out under the rotunda. Additionally, he repeatedly questioned group members about who had not paid for the Basilica add-on, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The Basilica add-on itself was a complete waste of time. I gained more information from the free Rick Steves audio tour than from the approximately ten minutes Urso spent covering the add-on. The tour was advertised as lasting three hours but ended significantly earlier. Overall, I felt that only the bare minimum was covered, which did not justify the price. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this tour unless it is offered at a significantly lower cost.

Our guide was outstanding—deeply knowledgeable and incredibly engaging, making the history of the Vatican Museums and the art within totally come alive. He masterfully navigated the large crowds, providing insightful context and focusing on must-see pieces. The preparation before entering the Sistine Chapel was perfect, allowing us to fully appreciate Michelangelo's genius in silence. The skip-the-line access was invaluable, saving us a massive wait time, and the seamless entry into St. Peter's Basilica was the ideal conclusion. If you are looking for a highly efficient and enriching way to experience the Vatican, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. A truly five-star experience!

My husband and I did a tour of the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel through Crown Tours and it was amazing!!! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Rome! Our tour guide Matej was the perfect tour guide!! He was very knowledgeable about everything and made the tour extremely enjoyable. 10/10 recommend Matej and the Vatican City tour!!!!

Daniele (the Fifth 😄) took us on an amazing tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica. Daniele made everything engaging with his fantastic storytelling, which really brought the history to life during our visit. I don’t think we would have enjoyed a tour without him as our guide nearly as much. He also tool extra care to make sure everyone could find some shade when standing outside for some exhibits. I would absolutely recommend the tour, and would even say try asking for a tour with Daniele specifically!
