All Inclusive Tulum: 4 hours Coast & Fun in 60' Sunseeker

My wife and I visited Secrets during our honeymoon. We had never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before, and we think this hotel was great!plenty of drinks and food options. The hotel had plenty of activities throughout the day. A real highlight had to be the Secrets entertainment team, including Sebastian, Arturo, Crystal, and Samara. They headed up activities at the resort and beach club, and were a whole lot of fun, dancing and having fun with guests! From foam parties, to water volleyball and much more (we learnt salsa and other dances with Sebastian), this team really added to the experience, and helped us as a couple connect with other guests. We only had two gripes, first gripe was that the transfers to and from the beach club stopped early in the afternoon. The beach club closed early and then the last shuttle to the beach precinct was 6.30pm, and the return shuttle from the beach club strip was at 10.30pm, which wasn’t useful for experiencing the nightlife Tulum has to offer. Second gripe was that we also had a very awkward check-in experience, where we were told that our booking was for their preferred club (told what where we could have breakfast etc, and that we were vip, different restaurant and section at the beach club), then piled with drinks and made to sign up to some trip to another secrets Akumal hotel for lunch (we were not told it was meant to be a marketing pitch for their Vacation club), and then abruptly told we needed to pay for preferred club if we wanted to “continue to experience the vip benefits” we had just been told by 2 different staff we had access to (I suspected the ruse, but hopefully assumed this was a free upgrade because it was out honeymoon). We also had difficultly and made to feel bad for not going to the Secrets Akumal resort for lunch.. they tried saying we couldn’t get out of it, and that we had signed up to do it and couldn’t cancel, only reschedule. We were firm with them on the day we wanted to do a cenotes trip instead.. and eventually got out of it. But that was a weird experience (being told we had to go somewhere on our holiday). From other reviews we noted that the presentation was very pushy and wasted their days. Other than that, the food options were plentiful, some great, some hit and miss, but the wait staff and bar tenders were very professional and attentive.

My wife and I stayed from December14 to 21 2025. We chose the Preferred room status. The resort was a bit complicated and confusing to get around for the first couple days, however that is alright with me as I like a challenge. The food was as good as other all inclusive resorts, not outstanding but quite acceptable. The room was excellent, the preferred pool excellent (except the water as a little too refreshing - (they need to get the water temperature up 5 or 10 degrees warmer) - the entertainment was good and the service very good. It is a little different not being located on the ocean but that is what makes in interesting and unique. You can take a shuttle to their beach club which we did and spent an afternoon on the beach. Limited spots in the shade. The staff three star selections ( like after a hockey game lol) and these three get 5 stars for friendly, efficient service, go to Quintana our concierge/butler, Carlos at the main bar and Samahanta at the preferred pool. The resort is very beautiful and so are the rooms. The buffet has a great selection of food and the a la carte restaurants are very lovely, the portions are small though so you will have to order multiple plates or go to two restaurants a night. There is high pressure for time shares and they try to get you with some coupon that can be used at the spa so up to you if you think that's worth it. The staff are attentive to ask how your stay is going yet it doesn't seem like they are actually using the feedback being given to them. The overall service at restaurants and bars is a bit underwhelming. One morning at the buffet we were not asked for our drink order once and then at lunch I ended up walking up to the lobby bar ordering two pops and returned to the table before we were brought our drinks by the resort staff. For the price we are paying I would expect the service to be a little better and ultimately we are on vacation so while it's not that big of a deal it is a bit of an inconvenience. The shuttle to the beach is very quick and it's nice way to see a bit of Tulum. However, once again it seems like the beach staff are a bit overwhelmed, by mid afternoon you are not able to order pizzas because they are too backed up with orders. The other impression I have gotten is the hotel prioritizes Preferred Members or Beach Club members. If you are at a pool the servers tend to forget about you after one drink because they are focused on serving Preferred Members. The Mexican show at the main pool was very good otherwise there is not much entertainment during the day or at night. By the end of this vacation I am honestly kind of bored because there is nothing to do which I guess is a nice break from reality but again at the price we are paying I would just expect a bit more.

Our stay at Secrets Tulum was absolutely outstanding and truly lived up to the highest five star standards. We stayed in room 3122 and everything about the accommodation was perfect. The service throughout the hotel was exceptional. Every member of the staff was professional kind and always attentive to guest needs. The food was excellent with a wide variety of high quality dishes beautifully presented and full of flavor. Dining at the resort was a real pleasure and exceeded our expectations in every way. A very special recognition goes to Supervisor Carlos Cardoso Palacios. He is an amazing person with an outstanding approach to guests. His professionalism kindness and dedication made our stay even more memorable. He represents the highest level of service that a luxury hotel should offer and makes guests feel truly valued. Additional advantages of Secrets Tulum that are widely praised online include the beautiful modern design inspired by the Tulum style luxurious and spacious rooms excellent cleanliness a peaceful adults only atmosphere and perfect conditions for relaxation. Secrets Tulum is a place we would happily return to and highly recommend to anyone looking for luxury comfort and world class service.
