Guilin Liangjiang Airport is relatively small. As we took a late-morning flight, breakfast options for foreigners were limited to KFC, a coffee outlet, and a convenience store offering simple bread and beverages; alternatively, you can opt for local Guilin noodles again. Security checks were very thorough and strict especially on power banks for the CCC verification. After passing security, there was only 1 retail shop selling local snacks & cookies for last grab as token for family. The Business VIP lounge is a medium-sized room located on the right immediately after the security checkpoint. Complimentary light local snacks, biscuits, Nescafé, milk, Coke, and cup noodles are available. Seating consists of low-back chairs, which can be quite uncomfortable for taking a light nap or resting your head. Flight information is not visible or audible inside the lounge, so be sure to monitor your flight status carefully.
Had my power banks confiscated at security since they didn’t have the Chinese CCC mark on them. I appreciate the rules and understand so I’m not complaining about that, but I said I would rather retrieve my luggage and take the train since the power banks cost more than double the price of the flight. They said they can send them on to my hotel instead. Spent ages giving them all the details they requested in good faith, but they didn’t post them as promised. I wish they had just been honest and allowed me to leave with my expensive items in tow.
