Beautiful place. 10-10 recommend! We will definitely be going back! It was so much fun exploring all that Acadia had to offer we spent 3 days exploring around and had a wonderful time!

Despite the government being shut down at the time in October (or maybe because of it?), we had no trouble driving into the park and viewing a beautiful cove before driving back the way we came. It was quintessential Acadia with big breakers, lots of rocks and beautiful fall color! Definitely a spot not to be missed!

Acadia National Park in late fall is an easy 5 stars for me. It’s that perfect sweet spot where most of the crowds are gone, the air is crisp, and the whole place feels a little quieter and more magical. The leaves are mostly past peak by then, but you still get these flashes of gold and deep red hanging on, and the evergreens keep everything looking like a coastal postcard. What really stands out this time of year are the views. There are so many gorgeous cliff overlooks where you can just stop and take in the ocean crashing below—those dramatic, rocky drop-offs with the waves rolling in feel extra moody in the fall. And the beach access spots are awesome too, especially Sand Beach and some of the quieter coves. The late-season chill keeps them pretty empty, so you can wander around, listen to the surf, and basically have the shoreline to yourself. Overall, late fall in Acadia feels peaceful, refreshing, and insanely beautiful. If you like ocean views, cliffside scenery, and quiet beaches, it’s pretty much perfect. Five stars, no question.

The park is Awesome! We visited the 3rd week of October and it turned out great. The park was in peak season for Fall foliage. There was not heavy foot traffic on the trails. I would highly recommend Beehive Trail, Precipice Trail and Cadillac Mtn. There are many good trails to hike, those were just a few worth pointing out. For a change of Mountain scenery, take a ride to Schoodic Point for some awesome coastal views.

A friend and I took the Gorge Trail / Cadillac North trail and it took us 4.26 hours for a 5.4 mile hike. The gorge trail takes you to the Cadillac mountain summit. It is a serious hike that includes rock climbing. We then took the Cadillac trail north back down. We are 51/47 year old women. Be ready. It’s a work out. Have your knees ready. It is Beautful. All of it. Worth the hike. The reward is amazing.
