Step into the heart of Asakusa and experience authentic Japanese sushi making combined with lively cultural traditions. Begin with Kagami Biraki, the ceremonial sake barrel opening for new beginnings, where participants chant together and enjoy a celebratory toast with sake, water, or warm Japanese tea. Learn essential nigiri techniques from friendly expert instructors, mastering the art of shaping rice, handling toppings, and placing fish cleanly for perfect presentation. The workshop includes modern twists like Torched Salmon Mayo Gunkan, where guests pile salmon, zigzag with mayo, and finish with a quick torch while chanting and capturing memorable photos.
Participants will create six to twelve pieces of sushi, including nigiri and rolls, enjoy a simple matcha finish, and leave with skills and photos to share. The hands-on experience is beginner-friendly, interactive, and offers a meaningful cultural immersion that blends skill, fun, and tradition. Guests will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Asakusa while learning techniques used in real sushi kitchens, experiencing traditional chants, and gaining insight into Japanese culinary culture. This workshop provides a memorable combination of food, culture, and entertainment for travelers seeking a unique and engaging activity in Tokyo.

I really enjoyed this sushi course and would definitely recommend it. The instructor was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly, making the course easy to follow and enjoyable. The balance between explanation and hands-on practice was very good, and the ingredients were fresh and high quality.

The guides were great and extremely enthusiastic! The ingredients were super fresh, I just feel that the tour needs another 30 mins. It felt slightly rushed, the extra time would make it a little less rushed.

A great family activity in Tokyo. All three of our kids, of different ages, absolutely loved it. The team was very accommodating and tailored the ingredients to be halal friendly, which we really appreciated. They also shared the history of sushi, which was very interesting and added to the overall experience. Overall, a fun and memorable activity and a great option for families visiting Tokyo.

We really enjoyed our experience. The staff was so kind, spoke great English and even taught us some Japanese! The quality of the sushi was really good, and they made directions not only easy but FUN. We even made some new friends! I would recommend this to anyone visiting Tokyo!!

It was interesting to learn about the history and origin of sushi and maki sushi. The sushi making class was split into two sections; one for making maki (rolled) sushi and nigiri sushi. The teaching process was thorough and well explained step by step. At the end of the class, we ate the sushi that we made for lunch. Overall, it was a very great experience and I would recommend you to come here if you plan to make sushi at home. One thing, though. I don’t recommend buying drinks here because they are pretty expensive. Bring your own if you want to have something to go along with your sushi.

We joined this sushi making class today, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. My wife and I had never made sushi before, yet by the end we felt like confident sushi chefs! The instructors did an amazing job explaining everything - including the history of sushi, the different types, and the proper techniques. Before we began, they even included fun quizzes and interactive moments, which made the experience lighthearted and enjoyable. We learned how to make nigiri as well as maki sushi. It was surprisingly hands-on, and the teachers guided us with patience, humor, and great attention to detail. We could also order drinks during the class, which was a great touch and made the experience feel even more relaxed and enjoyable. The two hours flew by because the atmosphere was so positive, friendly, and fun. And the best part? We got to eat everything we made - it tasted incredible. I still can’t believe we made it ourselves! If you’re visiting Tokyo and love sushi (or simply enjoy learning something new), this class is a must. We left smiling, full, and with a whole new appreciation for sushi. Highly recommended!

Amazing Sushi Making Experience in Tokyo! We had such a fun time at the Sushi Making Tokyo Class! Midori, Hayato, Ryo, and Kazu were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were great English speakers and made the experience so enjoyable and easy to follow. We learned how to make both maki rolls and nigiri sushi, and everything was delicious! The atmosphere was lighthearted and fun from start to finish. I’d definitely recommend this class to anyone visiting Tokyo—it’s a memorable and authentic experience you won’t want to miss!
