SOBAGIRI-RAKUJYO is a hands-on activity shop that offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience the art of making ramen noodles in an authentic and traditional way. Unlike inexpensive cooking activities that simply assemble ready-made ingredients, this experience is deeply rooted in Japanese culinary culture and is unique to Kappabashi, the famous district known as the town of kitchen knives. Participants use a large kitchen knife specially designed for noodle making and learn to slice noodles by hand without relying on any machinery, practicing the refined soba-giri (noodle-cutting) technique that has been passed down since the Edo period. Through an original and well-structured system, this centuries-old craft can be enjoyed in just 30 minutes, making it accessible even for first-time visitors. After crafting their noodles, guests can choose their preferred soup flavor and toppings and enjoy their freshly made dish at their seat. RAKUJYO offers both ramen and soba experiences, and for those who do not prefer wheat flour, the program can be switched to soba noodle making using 100% buckwheat flour, ensuring that everyone in a group can enjoy this memorable culinary experience together.

They have a ramen deal on during lunchtime for 17.90. I ordered OG Tonkotsu Ramen, broth was lovely and pretty good overall but chashu was quite plain. Also tea stained eggs wasn’t really stained at all, barely had any colour on it. Super staff and service were amazing.

Super fun and quick. Instructor had great energy and sense of humor. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming here for years since it opened. One of the better places to get a Ramen in Dublin. They’ve definitely improved overtime. And adding new dishes is good to see. The kimchi Ramen is great.

When I arrived , the Owner say my schedule was canceled. I was so shocked.

I visited this restaurant yesterday for a post-work dinner with my colleagues. One of the girls had chosen it after seeing good recommendations on TikTok, so we were excited to try it. When we arrived, we noticed that while they offered a vegetarian menu, there were no gluten-free options available, which was disappointing for me as someone with celiac disease. I personally find it stressful to change restaurants once we are already seated, so I decided to stay and order whatever I could from the menu that didn’t contain gluten. In most Asian-style places, I can usually rely on simple dishes like rice and vegetables, and even though I’m aware that cross-contamination might occur, I sometimes choose to take that risk—but it’s important for me to make that decision knowingly. What surprised me was that the server didn’t seem fully informed about gluten, and I wasn’t offered any suitable recommendations. I ended up ordering separate sides—just a portion of rice, caramelized onions, and spinach. The spinach even arrived cold. It would have been nice to have at least one complete dish, such as a bowl of rice with sautéed vegetables or a non-breaded chicken option. On a positive note, my colleagues enjoyed their ramen very much, and the place itself is small but cozy. Still, it’s surprising that a restaurant today would have no clear options for people with dietary restrictions. I’m not expecting a full gluten-free menu, but having at least a couple of simple, safe recommendations would make a big difference. It would allow guests like me to enjoy dinner alongside everyone else without feeling left out. I hope the restaurant can consider expanding their options in the future, or at least training staff to better assist customers with dietary needs. The atmosphere is pleasant, and with a few adjustments, it could be a much more inclusive place to dine.

It smells delicious as soon as you walk inside. The menu is simple, with a nice selection of ramen, both with and without broth. There are no bookings, so wait time is sort, as the food is served quickly.

The staff are really nice and friendly. We had a wonderful experience learning how to make the ramen. They also provided some ingredients add on to the ramen to enjoy with a drink afterward. The ramen was so delicious. Free snack was available as well. I highly recommend this place.
