Incredible hike and beautiful scenery! The hike is not at all difficult except for the initial climb up the ridge, then its mostly flat with a wonderful view of the mountains. The other path is slightly more scramble- best to come down this way as the view isn't as good anyway. Few things to note: The chair lift is often closed in October for maintenance- you can find this information on their website. If its closed you might get lucky and have jeeps driving you up the path, more likely to be on a weekend. If you book directly through a hostel this will likely be possible. The weather was incredible even in late October. The only snow was on the mountains themselves and not on the paths- although they were icy in places due to recent rain. There is a cabin at the start selling coffee and refreshments, aswell as hot food and beer. Great place to start and finish your walk. There is also a few souvenirs at the bottom Brilliant experience, best to book through a hostel on a proper guide to make sure your prepared properly
I booked the self-guided tour, which means that I should have gotten a map and no guide, but instead I got the exact opposite – which of course isn't a complaint! And I assume that it was a conscious decision by the provider because of the weather conditions. It had snowed the day before, so there were barely any trail markings visible, and it was good to have someone knowing the lay of the land with us. Still, whenever it was safe to do so Plemen let us go ahead at our own speed, which was nice :) Seeing the whoever scenery with snow hadn't been on my agenda, but it was lovely nevertheless (especially since I know that the people who went the day after had nothing but mud and fog to look forward to) I can definitely recommend, but always bring proper hiking shoes, even if you think it's gonna be dry and sunny!
