It's only 500m from the boat dock to the plaza center but it is a steep uphill climb software your time and you will lake it. The plaza has shopping and restaurants as well as small shops for beverages ice cream and snacks. The locals put on a dance show for you. Eat at the communication restaurant soup was delicious skipped the grilled trout and instead went for the omelet.

We absolutely loved our visit to Taquile. The island's cultural heritage, especially the world-renowned weaving and knitting, is something you won't see anywhere else. The locals are masters of their craft, and it was amazing to learn about how their clothing symbolizes their social status. The views from the top of the island are stunning, but the rich cultural experience is what makes this place truly special. Highly recommended for a genuine and meaningful visit.

Taquile Island, on Lake Titicaca, is a peaceful and scenic destination known for its rich cultural traditions. Unlike the smaller Uros Islands, Taquile feels less commercial and offers a more authentic glimpse of daily life. The island is famous for its handwoven textiles, recognized by UNESCO, and you’ll often see locals dressed in traditional clothing that reflects their community roles. The views from the island are stunning, with terraced hillsides overlooking the deep blue lake. Be prepared for some hiking, as reaching the main square involves climbing many stone steps at high altitude—but the panorama is well worth it. Life here is slow-paced, making it a wonderful place to disconnect and experience Andean culture. A great choice for travelers who enjoy cultural immersion, local crafts, and natural beauty.

It’s quite a climb to reach the plaza mayor but it’s definitely worth it as there are amazing views over the island and over lake Titicaca obviously there are some tourist shops. There are some beautiful walks around the island. We had lunch at a small restaurant, we had trout which was amazing.

Natural beauty with the waters surrounds this whole Tika. Lake tequila island it's about 12 km in length. 6 km in breadth and has well-defined terraces. With such humble islanders living there we had opportunity of having lunch with one family. It started off. With a very nice soup trout fish in the main antri. With vegetables and sweet potato and pancakes for dessert. It was very, very nice visit. There was music and dance. They demonstrated the culture which is prevalent in this island and it's a very, very humbling experience very different. But we have just enjoyed every experience
