We have done the Gaucho tour to El Ombu twice with the same company! We like it that much! Both times it was an amazing experience. Both tour guides spoke English well and provided a lot of information about gaucho live as well as Argentinian culture and history. What sets this trip apart from other estacia tours is that you also get to experience the rural town of San Antonio de Areco. If you are debating which estancia tour to take, look no further, and book this tour.

Incredible Colonia Day Trip — Jesus & Lily Truly Made the Experience This premium day trip to Colonia del Sacramento was one of the highlights of my South America travels, largely thanks to two outstanding guides. In Buenos Aires, Jesus was excellent from the very beginning. He was punctual, responsive, and communicated clearly about pickup and timing. The ferry process to Uruguay involves customs and immigration and can honestly feel more chaotic than an airport, but Jesus walked me through everything calmly and efficiently. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, and fluent in both English and Spanish, which made the entire start of the day smooth and stress-free. Once in Colonia, Lily was an absolute star. Her English is flawless, her historical knowledge is incredibly deep, and her 20+ years of living experience in the area really shows. She’s clearly beloved by locals — artisans, shop owners, and residents greeted her warmly, and I even overheard others saying she was the best guide. They were right. She’s a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor and gave thoughtful recommendations on where to eat, shop, and find good value without falling into tourist traps. Colonia itself is beautiful, especially beyond the main historic sites. Walking the quieter areas revealed excellent restaurants, cafés, gelato shops, urban art, and charming architecture. A couple of honest tips for future travelers: • Skip the coffee at the Buquebus Puerto Madero terminal. The hot drinks are served with terrible lids — I spilled coffee all over a white shirt and almost ruined my photo plans for the day. • Thankfully, Lily literally saved the day by helping me find a great replacement shirt once we arrived in Colonia. One unexpectedly lovely part of the experience was learning about the sweet stray dogs that roam Colonia. Lily explained that they’re well cared for, many are adopted, and they receive medical attention. One dog I saw (clearly injured in the past and walking awkwardly) completely stole my heart — it was reassuring to know they’re looked after, and I’d happily bring treats if I return. Final advice: arrive early for the ferry to clear customs smoothly and get better open seating, eat onboard instead of at the terminal, and travel light. I highly recommend this experience. The ferry ride is calm, Colonia is charming, and Jesus and Lily elevate the entire trip into something truly memorable.

A memorable day out, with Veronica our guide, knowledgable, funny and informative. It felt like a big family day out. The drive a couple of hours but nice to see the countryside. Various stops along the way. The Estancia was wonderful the food atmosphere refreshments and meats and salads. I took a ride on a horse (a long time since I did this). The singing and dancing were great and an intimate small group. Fabulous day ! Fabulous memories . Thank you.

We had a wonderful day in San Antonio de Areco with our guide Florencia, who was excellent and shared a lot of interesting history about Argentina. We spent the day at Estancia Las Dueñas de Areco, a beautiful place with great food, very good wine, and enjoyable entertainment. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We only wished we had more time for horseback riding. It’s a great experience, especially for families with children. Highly recommended!

We went on the Gaucho tour with Ailen and our driver was Dina. It was such a fun day. On the drive out to the ranch, Ailen shared a ton of history and cultural context about the gauchos. She also prepared a mate for everyone to enjoy. She made us all feel comfortable asking questions. Definitely recommend their tour. Plus getting out of the city for the day was really relaxing.
