Attention Severance fans: if you think that Kier Egan’s Lumon empire is just some writer’s febrile critique of late capitalist culture, you really need to take this tour. Just like the highly aestheticized modernist environment of Lumon industries, Palacio Barolo is a monumental corporate fantasy saturated with distinctly pre-modern symbolism, in this case derived from Dante’s Divine Comedy. The show’s fusing of corporate team-building with cult-like rituals and its conflation of bureaucratic transgression with sin is cast in a whole new light when you consider these elements from the perspective of Barolo’s (himself a late nineteenth-century entrepreneur) grandiose act of self-mythification. All of the Orpheic themes of the show — as Mark rescues his Eurydice from the bowels of hell — also come into sharper focus after you’ve been introduced to this nutty architectural hybrid of modern and ancient mythologies. The tour is absolutely worth if you’re not a fan of the show, but if you are, it’s an absolute must.

We took the Twilight tour which was fantastic. Martina was our tour guide and provided clear and interesting information in both English and Spanish. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The views from the tower and lighthouse were great. There was live cello music in the tower which was great!

I enjoyed the tour it was just a little long. Seeing the lighthouse was amazing! It would be nice if they had tours staggered in English/Spanish rather then having each tour multi lingual.
