Once inside the desert dunes of Huacachina, we saw that there were many people trying to do different activities that range from dune bashing to sand boarding and even paragliding. For us, we just took in the views of the Huacachina oasis. The panoramic view really does show how small the town of Huacachina is. We then did the brave thing, to climb up one of the peaks to have views over the desert and sunset. It was tiring! Both of us were panting halfway up the slope and had to rest several times just to get to the top. But it was well worth it. At the top... This place is an absolute miracle. Something so sacred it leaves you breathless. Protected you may not enter. Surrounded by adorable architecture. And surrounding that are teams of people in a highly competitive objective frazzled in the typical Peruvian function to sell thier services. Touring on 4 wheelers and sand boards it would have been epic to do but we had no time.

This was such a fun experience! This was my first time sand boarding and I had the time of my life!!! It was money well spent. I booked it for an hour and that was enough for me, I couldn't imagine being up there for longer and not having a bathroom. I had to pee so bad, I'm surprised that I didn't pee on myself during that hour especially during the buggy rides.

Magical desert oasis! An incredible place surrounded by golden dunes, where you can relax by the lagoon, enjoy sandboarding, or take a buggy tour to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. The atmosphere is lively, with many restaurants and bars around. Definitely one of the most unique and beautiful spots in Peru!

The only oasis above the desert in Peru.🏜️ It was a truly exciting day.🙆♂️ We drove a 4x4 buggy over the sand dunes.🏎️ We got our adrenaline pumping.😁 I felt like I was on a roller coaster as we went up and down dunes up to 30 meters high.🤷♂️ We stopped to enjoy the incredible views of the sunset and take another picture.📸
