It's absolutely a must-do-tour, and it's not only about the reindeer. This is something more about people's heritage and messages of the past and present, what you can listen and then close into your mind and heart. 🥰 The reindeers are abviously cute and beautiful. But for me this day gave much more about important things of life. As these people keep the tradition of thousands of years and they are the people living on the peripheral region of climate change. What I do in middle Europe affects their life in the Arctic. And their life is reindeer. One thing: dress on well, as the camp is in the middle of nothing and there can be very cold even in the tent. But also the place is very unique, I participated during the polar nights, and we could see the Moon shiningduring daytme, and that was incredible ... we were standing in a queue to make photos of that too. 😍 Our host/guide was Marja, a young sami lady and we were dazzled by her stories and information. She made a magic ... 😍 It was really respectful to see that here is such a young girl, who spread the message of sami people this much passionately with her kind smile and shining eyes. All our hosts were very kind, smiling, friendly, hospitable and careful. 🥰 And they help us with making photos, as well. The tales and information by Marja were very interesting - actually breath-taking, something what we have never experienced and heard - so it was funny to look around and the whole group was listening to Marja's stories with open mouth 🤭 Later on we had the opportunity to ask questions. - Well, if we had time until next morning, then we'd have used the time until then. ☺️ We could feed the reindeers, they are very gentle animals and shy. I booked the tour with reindeer sledding, but I realized that I don't need this "fluffy-story", so I skipped the sled and I was satisfied about it. ☺️ Then we had lunch, I requested vegan meal what was a tomato-based, delicious soup. We got hot chocolate, coffee, tea and cakes. I was really touched, the wole day was just heart-warming. 🥰 It was more valuable for me that I could support Sami people with going there and I felt I got something much more than an excursion. This was my last day in Tromso, and this tour was a nice farewell and last step of my holiday, especially with joiking. And I'm gonna keep this memory in my heart until forever. 💞

Loved every single moment of this wonderful trip!!!We chose nightime for a chance to see the northern lights and we did !!!!! We got taken there by coach and had a small introduction in the Sami tent from someone from the Sami culture of what was happening. It was soo warm in here and benches to sit on whilst they spoke to you. We then went to the reindeer and got a bucket of food for them!It was amazing! There's over 350 reindeers!!Some of them love the food and others don't.They can get quite cross with each other but the guides/Sami guide are there incase this happens. The reindeers walk freely around you can feel something behind you and it's an antler poking you or some loud breathing 🤣🤣 If you have paid for the sledding you wear a visible bracelet and they come and collect you when it's your turn.At the end of the sledding which was amazing they take a photo of you using your mobile which was soo kind. You then go to a large wooden super warm tent to have hot chocolate/tea/coffee and cookies. You then sit down for a 3 course dinner which was really nice too!! The toilets are outside and are clean. Then you head back to the Sami tent to learn about their culture which was really interesting and nice to hear and you could ask any questions too. The coach then arrives to take you back to Tromsø bus station. Would do this trip again in a heartbeat!

Great experience 😀 Super fun few hours feeding the reindeers and learning about the local culture. All the guides were really friendly and the location is amazing. If you want a nice half day activity to ease you into time in Tromsø this is highly recommended. 10/10

We came on a Havila Voyages excursion with very high hopes. Thise hopes we're greatly exceeded! The reindeer experience was everything we could have hoped for and more. And as wonderful as sleigh riding and reindeer feeding was, it was equally matched by learning about the reindeer and their care as part of the Sami culture. Luna did an incredible job telling us about this and answering our questions. This is part of a bucket list trip for us and really is an absolute highlight of the trip! VERY Highly Recommended.

Wonderful experience with the reindeer - we got to feed them and they were so gentle and calm. We also learned so much about the culture and traditions surrounding them, which made it even more special. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the food and drinks were amazing. Definitely recommend! ✨🦌
