Its been more than 30 years ago that I last visited the Voortrekker Monument. I visited it recently and was super impressed. Its is beautiful and well looked after. Peaceful and a wonderfull outing. The "gedenktuin" was a surprise and touched me deeply.
I visited this monument on the 16th of December. Here you are taken back into history, i enjoyed walking the many steps to the top of the monument, and various rooms or chambers. There is a restaurant nearby where you can buy something to eat before or after visiting this monument. Highly recommended for everyone
What an amazing experience as an adult. Brought back lots of memories of when I visited in primary school. There's obviously lots of changes, sad though. But still glad I could come and experience this as a adult. Very neat, and friendly and helpful staff awaits you.
