This classic Mount Kenya trek is the most popular route and the fastest way to reach Point Lenana, though it is not the most scenic. The route passes through the vertical bog and into the wide Teleki Valley beneath Tryndall and the Lewis Glacier. It offers a challenging yet rewarding climb for hikers seeking a direct path to the summit. While the itinerary allows reaching the summit in four days, an overnight acclimatization at Naromoru River Lodge is strongly recommended for a safer and more comfortable climb. This can be arranged at an extra fee. The trek provides stunning alpine landscapes, glaciers, and an unforgettable mountain adventure for those who are well prepared.
The trek includes all meals during the climb including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, transfers to and from the base of the mountain, treated water, guaranteed trek on confirmation, all park entrance fees including government taxes, and a successful climb certificate upon completion. Please note that a passport is required. The trek is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, not suitable for pets, and there is no public transportation nearby. Infants must not sit on laps and infant seats are unavailable. The trek is not recommended for travelers with back problems, pregnant travelers, or those with heart conditions. Laundry, tips, sleeping bags, climbing gear, accommodation before the trek, international flights, visas, and other personal expenses are not included. Pick up is available from apartments and airbnbs.
