Underwater Navigation

The Underwater Navigation specialty is designed to help divers enhance their orientation skills and gain confidence underwater. The course includes five knowledge development sessions that cover the theory and practical techniques necessary for effective underwater navigation. Participants learn to use a variety of navigation aids, including compasses, natural landmarks, and distance estimation methods based on time and fin strokes. These skills are essential for safe and efficient diving, enabling divers to explore new sites with greater ease and accuracy.

In addition to the theoretical sessions, the program includes two open water dives where students can practice and apply their navigation skills in real conditions. By mastering these techniques, divers become more self-reliant and comfortable underwater, improving their overall diving experience. The course also enhances situational awareness, helping participants plan their dives better and ensuring they can return safely to their starting point, making every dive more enjoyable and rewarding.
