Middle Box Fly Fishing, Camping & Floating - 3 Day

The Rio Grande Middle Box two day adventure offers an extraordinary fly fishing and wilderness experience in one of New Mexico’s most remote and pristine areas. The trip begins with a scenic shuttle from the Far Flung Adventures Boathouse to the Cebolla Mesa trailhead in the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument. From there a one mile downhill hike brings guests into the heart of the canyon where guides will help set up camp and provide instruction for fishing in this nearly untouched fishery.

The Middle Box is known for its abundant wildlife including river otters large birds of prey and herds of bighorn sheep. Guests will also encounter fascinating historical sites such as an abandoned mining area a horse thief’s hideout and rarely visited archaeological locations. The first day concludes with a multi course hot meal by the riverside and relaxing around a campfire while taking in the dramatic canyon scenery.
