We’ll begin the day driving through the Pays d’Auge, a wonderfully picturesque countryside known for its half-timbered houses with thatched roofs, rolling fields dotted with Normandy cows, and apple orchards, before reaching our first stop, Honfleur, where we’ll go up to Le Mont Joli and Notre-Dame de Grâce on the heights of the town to admire the stunning view of the Normandy Bridge spanning the Seine River; we’ll then explore Honfleur itself, including the largest wooden church in France, and you’ll have free time to wander through the many art galleries before we meet for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the port. Our second stop will be Deauville, famous for hosting the American Film Festival every September and for its elegant 19th-century villas, after which we’ll continue along the beautiful coastline known as “La Côte Fleurie,” passing through Villers-sur-Mer, Houlgate, and Cabourg. On our way back toward Caen, we’ll make a final stop in Beuvron-en-Auge, officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, admired for its charming streets and its 15th-century half-timbered manor house, before returning around 5:30 pm.
