We took the private 1/2 day Parma City of Perfume Tour. A fascinating, one-of-a-kind Parma tour with Michelle — history, perfume, and hidden gems. Michelle was highly knowledgeable about the history of Parma, its food, and the fascinating perfume heritage. We even had access to the San Filippo Neri Antique Pharmacy, which is not normally open to the public. While this is a perfume tour you will learn about the history of Parma and even non-perfume lovers will enjoy this tour!

My husband and I have now had the pleasure of Michelle taking us on guided tours for a number of visits to Italy (from Australia). Our first experience was in 2021 on foot visiting all of the local eateries in Parma and most recently in December 2024 spending a full day visiting some of the best food producers in the region. If you are looking for a tour guide that knows the region, Michelle is your person. She tailors each experience so perfectly that all you need to do is be ready for collection and you just sit back and enjoy the ride. Being so well connected in the region, Michelle will take you to places that are commonly not accessible to tourists and you finish the day feeling like friends! Would definitely recommend and are already planning our next adventure.

My boyfriend and I spent a fantastic afternoon doing a 3 hour food tour with Michelle. It was a highlight of our trip to Italy and we wish we could have done a full day trip to the nearby production facilities. Michelle is from Parma and so knowledgeable about the city, the region and its famous products. We learned so much about their history and how they are made. Gelato and local cakes, prosciutto and other cured meats, balsamic vinegar, Parmesan, local pastas, local sparkling wines. Don’t have lunch before because you must come hungry - there’s a lot to taste and discover ! Michelle was also extremely responsive and helpful while organizing this private tour. If you are in Parma, don’t miss this experience ! And thank you again Michelle !

We did the half day Parmigiano and Balsmanic Vinegar Tour with Michelle and it was the highlight of our vacation! It was so incredible to see the entire parmigiano process from start to finish, especially with a guide as knowledgeable and passionate as Michelle. She cares so deeply about the food produced in the region and is constantly going out of her way to become a more informed expert. It was so clear to us how much she loves the region and the produce created here and it made our experience that much more special. The balsamic vinegar portion of the tour absolutely blew us away and we haven’t stopped thinking about it. If you’re looking for an authentic experience while in the region, we could not recommend Art Emilia Tours more highly. We stayed in Bologna and opted for the transport inclusive tour, and were met by Michelle and her driver at Modena station, making it so easy for us to get around. Thank you Michelle for such a wonderful experience!

We had a short stay in Parma with friends and only had one afternoon-evening free for a food tour. I contacted ArtEmila and Michelle promptly responded with suggested itineraries for a guided food work in Parma. Michelle was fantastic and was always quick in responding to my many questions. Our only regret is not booking a full day tour with her. We were met at our hotel and started off with gelato at one of Parma's best. We were given lots of information on the history of Parma, the food culture of the city, and a perspective from a local. Michelle has an incredible knowledge about art and food! She guided us through the Cathedral and pointed out all the fascinating things that one would usually just walk past and miss. During our Food Walk she also pointed out many local favourite eating and drinking spots. We went on to one of the biggest and best Procutteria shops where we tasted a variety of local hams from different cuts of meat, and she explained the differences in the making process and the difference in taste. We then tasted a variety of local cheeses and the difference the aging process makes. We moved on to taste 3 different pasta, each with a unique taste. We were also told stories of how the locals prefer to make their pasta, and the ingredients they use, and their traditions. We had a fantastic evening and feel we learned so much about Parma and about Italian life, and most importantly about the wonders of Parma food. I can highly recommend Artemilia and Michelle. And if you have the time, definitely do a full day tour!
