Handbuilding with Ease 102: Thursday Evenings

Black Hound Clay Studio South offers an intermediate handbuilding class taught by Gerald Brown, designed for students who are confident with basic ceramic techniques and ready to take on larger or more complex projects. Participants will use pinching, coiling, and slab methods to create functional or sculptural works, such as sculptural planters, serving dishes, or other imaginative pieces. The class encourages creativity and experimentation, allowing students to explore personal ideas while refining technical skills in a supportive studio environment. In addition to handbuilding, students will learn glazing and surface design techniques to enhance and complete their finished pieces. The class is intended for those who have previously completed at least one beginning-level handbuilding course, ensuring participants have a solid foundation to build upon.
