Over & Under the Rhine Tour

Over-the-Rhine is one of Cincinnati’s most historic neighborhoods, filled with remarkable architecture both above and below ground. This tour invites guests to explore the area on foot and by streetcar, visiting major topside landmarks including Findlay Market, Music Hall, Washington Park, and the location of the historic Miami-Erie Canal. Along the way, we share fascinating stories about the neighborhood’s past, including its early brewing history and the development of Cincinnati’s urban landscape. Guests will also learn about underground sites from above, such as the pre-Prohibition lagering facility of the Lafayette Brewery and sections of the city’s abandoned subway system beneath Central Parkway.

The adventure continues with a guided underground visit to the Gerke Brewery, where beer was fermented and cold-stored dating back to the 1850s. This immersive experience allows visitors to witness the architecture and ingenuity of Cincinnati’s early brewing operations firsthand. The tour concludes at a local taproom, where each guest enjoys a pint of beer included with their ticket.
