We had a very nice, clean and quiet stay. The design of the cabin is great and it realy enhgances the feeling of cozyness. The breakfast was nothing special. I come back with an edit: The views from the cabin were breathtaking, please see picture below. The water in the pool, while the design of it was cool it was cold cold cold for my preference. On the breakfast, if the mere selection of three cheeses which you can get in the supermarket and some scrambled eggs are considered 'local' then the breakfast can be described as the one which the first colonisers to the islands had, bread cheese and egg.
Pico Vineyard exceeded every expectation! From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warmth and professionalism. Every interaction was pleasant and thoughtful. Our room was absolutely perfect: spacious, beautifully appointed, and spotlessly clean. It struck the ideal balance between comfort and elegance, with lovely touches that made our stay feel special. The facilities throughout the hotel were equally impressive—modern, well-maintained, and immaculately clean.
I’m afraid to publish this review because this hotel soon will be so popular, I’ll have to book a year in advance! It is pure perfection at its finest. First of all the architecture- the villas are built to mimic the maze like wine vineyards in Pico. Our room, which was more like a small volcanic rock guest house, had stunning views of Mt. Pico and our own pool. There was a separate living space and an unbelievable outside shower connected to the bathroom. The bed was situated so that Mt. Pico welcomed you in the morning and slowly said goodnight as the sun went down. The guest houses are built into the volcanic hillside with views of the ocean on one side and Mt Pico on the other. We did not get to experience the indoor pool but the building and the pool itself was gorgeous! The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, breakfast was delicious every morning with homemade breads, meat, cheese, fruit and eggs cooked to order. The wine tasting we booked was given in an incredible underground area that begins with a spiral staircase from reception, leading down to a tunnel that hosts tools and pictures from the vineyards, opening up to a contemporary wood paneled tasting room with an enormous piece of volcanic rock at its center used for tasting. The tasting was very well done and full of excellent information about the wines, Pico itself, and the property. We met the gracious owner, Pedro, and his sister, Daniela, is the chef. Christine who gave us our wonderful wine tasting said she had known the owner for years. You felt as though they were all connected in some way. Book this hotel before everyone finds out how special it is!
