The Meramec River offers a serene and relaxing experience for anyone looking to enjoy a day on the water. Known for its lazy, slow-moving current, the river allows kayaks and canoes to glide smoothly downstream, providing an enjoyable and leisurely paddle. Rafts, on the other hand, tend to move at a slightly slower pace, giving guests a chance to take in the surrounding scenery at a more relaxed speed. The river’s gentle flow makes it an ideal choice for beginners or those simply looking to unwind while connecting with nature. Guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of the river, from the lush greenery along the banks to the occasional wildlife, making it a peaceful and memorable outdoor adventure.
Upon arrival, all guests are required to sign waivers to ensure safety and compliance with park regulations. At the designated departure time, participants are transported by bus from the River Stop Store to the Sappington Bridge, where they are offloaded to begin their float back downstream to the Meramec State Park River Stop Store. This system ensures a smooth and organized experience, allowing everyone to focus on paddling and enjoying the journey without worrying about logistics. Whether you are in a kayak, canoe, or raft, the trip provides a unique opportunity to relax on the water, appreciate the natural beauty of the Meramec River, and enjoy a day of safe, memorable recreation.
