We thoroughly enjoyed our half-day tour of Mt Etna. Our driver, Salvo, and tour guide, Marco, were very informative and fun. We were in a van with 8 people total, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We’re from the US, and the others were from different countries, but everyone spoke English really well. Came across an offer for doing both Etna and visit a local winery as a combined tour experience. Our guide (Salvo) picked us up from the hotel and with him we joined a couple of more people on a trip up to mount Etna. He shared insights about the history of the region and volcano activities. We ascended some heights from a safe distance away from the active volcano and we walked around in the outcome of lateral volcano outbreaks from many years ago. After seeing the mountain we went to a local winery to see the production steps of making wine and we also got to have some local food and taste different type of wines. All in all, a great way to spend a day in Sicilia! Great service, great experience, great people - good memories!
