Unfortunately, we had one of the poorest car rental experiences with this company. First of all, you should know that you are not dealing with NewWay Car Hire, but with Avis/Budget. When I arrived at the rental office at Dublin Airport, I found the desk of NewWay closed with a note to report to Avid/Budget to my surprise. Desk was packed; a gentleman gave me a paper, took fuel deposit from me and asked me to make my way to a shuttle stop to catch a shuttle taking me for a long ride across the airport parking / car rental areas after waiting for a good 10-15 minutes for a shuttle to arrive. Once at the pick-up point, I was presented with a car of the category I booked, in a very dirty state and overall poor conditions. I was given a baby car seat made of hard plastic and covered in a simple mash cover. I left to go and pick up my wife and toddler and soon after my wife realized of the baby seat (I was not aware straight away about the poor quality of such seat), I had to return back at the pickup point where I was asked to unpack the car and have a change over. After a while of waiting, we were given another car in better conditions and a slightly better car seat. The lady at the office knew nothing about baby car seats and she refunded us for it as she understood how poor the quality is. The new car provided was not what we have booked originally as we have booked a HYBRID-AUTOMATIC SUV, and we were given an UNLEADED AUTOMATIC SUV. This resulted is us spending more fuel for our rental. We left / picked the car later then what we have originally agreed on our booking which we were compensated for by being told to return one hour after an hour pre-scheduled time. Which happened, kudos for this. In summary, this is not the worse place to rent your car, but the place feels disorganized and highly unprofessional. Do not expect a plain sailing experience here, plan ahead or simply look for a safer alternative.

Went with NewWay after canceling on another rental company due to that company’s confusing insurance coverage policies and lots of fine print about what was/wasn’t covered. The higher up-front cost with NewWay was well worth the peace of mind that there were no hidden fees or holds, and that we were straightforwardly in the clear should any accidental damage occur, especially since we were driving for two weeks on the opposite side of the road/car than we were used to. Easy pick-up, seamless and free crossing into Northern Ireland, clean car, no trouble or extra costs when returning even when we disclosed a piece of plastic that started dragging by the front tire on the way back to the airport. Would happily rent from here again and will recommend to friends.
