My wife and I had been considering booking a stay at Castle Leslie as our Christmas present to eachother this year, so we had been checking dates and prices recently as we try and decide which suits us best. I noticed an advert on Facebook from Castle Leslie that they had a black Friday sale on and that all rates in the months we wanted had been discounted 15%. Fantastic, I thought... this was a great opportunity to book our stay with a little discount. However, it appears they have increased their standard rates prior to this "discount" being applied so that the total price is actually more expensive than when we were originally looking. I'm disappointed in this tactic and didn't think Castle Leslie would have engaged in this sort of thing. We're likely going to stay elsewhere now.

There are times and occasions in life when we must put pen to paper to borrow an old addage. 21st Nov 2025 we went for a meal to the hotel and the setting, the service and staff were stunning. My aunt's loved the food and the venue and a special fuss was made of the birthday girl. Definitely going back

Beautiful place. We had afternoon tea. Great selection of teas. My SIL had whisky/chocolate flavour. My brother had black tea. Both were enjoyed along with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. The only downside was the scones were not all good. But that was immediately rectified. They served lemon curd as well as jam and cream. Would definitely recommend it

I found Castle Leslie through Equitours - attracted by the chance to ride at this fine estate. We were thrilled with the horses and the stables. The grounds were lovely and we were able to trot, cantor, and gallop. We took the trail that led us to the pond you see in the photos. That afternoon, I took a lesson in the ring to focus on my seat. The guide gave me back-handed compliment with -- "I didn't know you could ride." The last day we rode with several other people, a new guide, crossing many fields. In a stream between fields, my daughter's horses eye grew wide, his nostrils widened, he puffed and pranced. There was barbered wire at his legs. He was panicked. My horse became alarmed, jumped over a stone wall, taking only one step before landing in thick mud. I anticipated moving forward and slipped under him. Fortunately, he stepped only on my arm, and in deep mud. When we arrived back at the stable, feeling shaken and weak, they used the term "We need to do paperwork." I said -- you should communicate with the field managers -- we should not have crossed a stream with barbed wire in the water. I was them reprimanded for choosing to ride in the fields. I share this because I have not ridden since this incident, and I adore riding. The situation was not safe. I was put in harms way, my daughter was, riders who ride at Castle Leslie are.

Fabulous venue, really helpful staff. Was here for a wedding and can't say enough nice things about the staff. We stayed in the mews and one night just wasn't enough. The whole cottage was gorgeous with everything you could need. The food served was just gorgeous, the kitchen staff are obviously top notch! The beautiful horses were such a lovely surprise for me! They are so friendly. Can't wait to go back for a longer stay!!
