I had a really good time out on the water with our small air boat. Our Captain was very knowledgeable of the area as he lives close by and was born and raised in the area. Not only could he call and interact with the alligators, he taught us how to determine the length and estimate the age. After our first encounter with one large male and two females we went to another spot. I is here where he called a very small female less than three years old to the boat. It was amazing. I lived in Louisiana for 54 years and never to the time to visit the southern swamp. It was worth the time and I will do it again and recommend to all my friends it is something great to do.
We had so much fun! We were on a small airboat. I only saw one gator, but during this time of year, it’s their hibernation season. There was also a baby gator, but I didn’t see it. Definitely recommend the small airboat if you want to experience some speed. I would also recommend setting up transportation through the company. I’d definitely go again.
Tom was an amazing captain!!! He really knows the swamp like the back of his hand. He wasn’t sure if we would find any gators but we saw four. Two were 7-8’ and two pretty small. Tom knows his native birds and vegetation very well too. Not only is he funny, but we learned a lot. We were three couples and hired a small boat. It was well worth it for a private tour. We lucked out and no one had booked the other two seats. This was the best part of our trip to New Orleans. 😊
