Discover Habitation Néron & Taste Papa Rouyo Rum

This one hour experience invites visitors to discover Habitation Neron, a former sugar factory and distillery that preserves significant chapters of Guadeloupe history. The guided tour offers an immersive walk among authentic remains while presenting the evolution of the island during and after slavery. Visitors gain insight into local heritage, collective memory, and the deep cultural impact of this period. The walk through the heritage park adds context to the site and provides a calm environment to reflect on its historical importance. The visit ends with a tasting of three Papa Rouyo rums crafted from sugarcane grown in Le Moule, offering a thoughtful balance of cultural learning and sensory enjoyment.

This activity is accessible to participants aged eight and above and is suitable for people with reduced mobility. Free cancellation is available up to twenty four hours before the scheduled time, and the meeting point is the Neron Section in Le Moule. Inclusions consist of a sixty minute guided tour, a walk through the heritage park, rum tastings, and access to the Slave Route Traces of Memory site. Food and gratuities are not included. Visitors are encouraged to bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable shoes. Optional purchases of bottles and local products are available on site. Alcohol tastings are reserved for adults and identification may be required.
