Really nice distillery focused on quality rather than quantity, by using pot stills and thereby increasing its aromas. Super friendly and helpful staff that knew a lot about rum. Thanks for the experience!

Our tour of Papa Rouyo was absolutely incredible! The tour guides were very enthusiastic and passionate about their history, farmers, terroir, and of course, their Rhum. A must try, their rhum is unlike any other agricole rhum I've tasted on Guadeloupe. You can tell this is a true artisanal product made by expert farmers and distillers. They stay true to their mission and vision of being a farmer-first producer. Can't recommend highly enough!

I am a wine and spirits educator with a particular interest in rum so visiting Guadeloupe was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about how the island's unique rhum agricoles are made. My husband and I had an excellent tour and tasting with Xavier. We were very impressed with the rums, the distillery philosophy and the plans for the future and are excited to watch the evolution of Papa Rouyo. We look forward to a time when we’ll be able to buy them in the UK! We particularly enjoyed the white rum, of which we bought a bottle and have enjoyed sipping it neat or in a Ti Punch!

We loved this distillery for several reasons. 1) The rum is delicious (of course!) 2) the distillery itself has a good energy and a fantastic story, which is centred on the sugarcane and the farmer! 3) The team are very passionate, informed and friendly. We had a really enjoyable and informative English speaking tour. A big shout out to Davy, a really great guy who was our tour guide on the day 4) there is also a brewery if you feel like a beer afterwards. Definitely worth a visit!!.

Awesome experience at Papa Rouyo! I arrived in the morning asking if it was possible to visit the distillery and the staff was so gentle proposing me to join a booked guided tour scheduled for the afternoon. More: the guided tour was in French language but I don't speak French! Well, the staff was so gentle dedicating (to me only!) an English speaking person of the staff: Eina. Eina showed passion, professionalism and lot of knowledge about the world of the rhum and Distillerie Papa Rouyo too: congrats Eina!!! The tour finished with a guided rhum tasting: unexpected and really appreciated surprise! Papa Rouyo's rhum are awesome too; it is no coincidence that world known Velier Explorer is their Italian distributor... Definitely an experience to live: highly recommended!!!
