Embark on an unforgettable full-day adventure in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, searching for dolphins and other marine life. The tour begins with pick-up from Auckland CBD, followed by a scenic three-hour drive north into the Far North District. Upon arrival in Paihia, you’ll board the Catamaran Dolphin Seeker for a four-hour guided boat cruise. Glide across the sparkling waters, keeping an eye out for playful dolphins, seabirds, and other marine life. During the cruise, you’ll stop at Urupukapuka Island, where you can relax on the beach, take a walk to the summit for panoramic views, or simply soak up the serene surroundings. One of the highlights of the day is visiting the iconic Hole in the Rock on Motukokako Island, located at the end of Cape Brett Peninsula, a must-see natural formation that offers incredible photo opportunities.
After your marine adventure, the boat returns to Paihia, and the tour makes its way back to Auckland CBD along the scenic Northland roads. This full-day experience combines wildlife encounters, stunning coastal views, and a touch of adventure, making it perfect for families, couples, and friends eager to explore New Zealand’s unique marine environment. Please note that this tour does not include Whangarei Falls, and the Hole in the Rock sighting is subject to tide conditions. With comfortable transport, snacks, and a knowledgeable crew guiding your journey, this tour ensures a memorable day on land and sea.

I guess it depends on the tour guide you get. We got Charlie, who is personable enough, but keeps getting lost in conversations with people, leading to “10 minute” stops lasting 30, etc. Also DO NOT choose this tour if you are gluten free. There are zero options for you at the bakery where they stop to give you a chance to buy lunch. So I’m hungry and frustrated. The caves were cool, though.

We recently took a half day Glow worm tour, Rob was our guide and he was great, full of knowledge and info and rather whitty. Great tour, we got to see a lot of the areas highlights. Haruru Falls was particularly nice...my son was thrilled when the wild chickens all came running when Rob called, very cute! Great value for money, we finished up with so much more than just sightseeing, we are loaded with info on the history of the area we as tourists had no idea about, fascinating truly! Rob returned us back to Port well before our ship left with no stress at all. Highly recommended

Had a good day with Matt on our ultimate tour visiting the Kawiti glow worm, Haruru falls, the famous Hundertwasser toilet, and Waitangi Treaty Grounds (including Maori culture show). The included lunch buffet was also good. Book this independent from cruise ship excursions. Worth the fee charged and we got discount at the time of booking.

This company is absolutely amazing. Incredible driver thank you Tyson. Very well run and professional for our little wedding ceremony at Omata Estate. Clean busses and very professional to pick us up and our guests on time. Highly recommend these guys for your special occasions. Thank you sooo much 🥰

Went for an "Ocean Adventure" with Explore and it was superb. It was super fun to go out on a speed boat and the skipper had it jump off the waves, almost felt like a roller-coaster ride. We were out when the seas were very rough, maybe a bit too rough but we didn't mind. Went to a few islands and bays and the skipper was very knowledgeable and told us some history about the islands. Also went to and THROUGH the hole in the rock and it was great. Ps. It will get wet and it will be bouncy. If you're very sensitive to seasickness (like myself) I'd recommend to take a pill before it as you might get sick. Would highly recommend!
