Just a short drive from Lisbon, immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of Portugal’s historic villages. This full-day guided tour takes you on a scenic journey through Sintra and its surrounding countryside, uncovering traditional ways of life that have been preserved for centuries.
Starting with a hotel pickup, you’ll set off to explore the enchanting village-museum of José Franco, an open-air showcase of Portugal’s rural past. Stroll through Aldeia da Mata Pequena, a beautifully restored village with cobbled streets and whitewashed houses.
Next, take in the breathtaking views at Azenhas do Mar, a postcard-perfect clifftop village overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Continue to Penedo, a hidden gem perched on a hillside, where old-world charm meets stunning landscapes.
In Sintra’s historic center, wander through colorful streets, admire the fairytale-like architecture, and enjoy some free time to explore. After lunch (not included), visit the secluded Praia da Adraga, a serene beach with natural caves.
The journey continues to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, before heading to the golden sand dunes of Guincho Beach. Stop at Boca do Inferno, a dramatic rock formation shaped by the ocean’s power, before finishing in the vibrant town of Cascais, one of Portugal’s most beloved seaside destinations.
End the day with a comfortable return to Lisbon, filled with unforgettable memories of Portugal’s most magical villages.

Johnny was hands-down the best tour guide! Knowledgeable with everything from the history to the botany of Sintra as well as some added humor! A very enjoyable experience. 10/10 recommend. But as Johnny says - tell your friends to dress warm! Sintra is a city of 4 seasons. Thank you for such an amazing day.

Had an awesome day in Sintra with George and his tuktuk! We booked a 4-hour tour and at the start George asked if we had any wishes and adjusted the tour so we could also go inside the Pena Palace. Sintra is very beautiful and George told very vividly about it and knew great details. He gave us amazing tips, so we knew where to go to and what tickets to buy etc. Although we booked for 4 hours, George told us many times to take our time and that the 4 hours was just for when we were in the tuktuk. We spent a whole day in Sintra, and where dropped of in the city center around 5 PM (while started at 10 AM). Would 100% recommend ! And definitely spend a (minimum of) a day in Sintra, because there is so much to see.
