South Island SUP and Mer Tales Ocean Journeys host a variety of fundraising SUP events throughout the year, catering to paddlers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts. These events include festive and themed occasions such as the New Year’s Day Polar Bear Paddle, International Women’s Day, Earth Day, and Oceans Day in the first half of the year, as well as the Halloween Witches Paddle and Santa & Friends Paddle toward the end of the year. Participants enjoy paddling in a supportive and fun community environment while raising funds for local charities such as Victoria Mustard Seed Foodbank, Bridges for Women Society, and Pacific Wild. Events are usually held at Willows Beach or Gonzales Bay in Victoria, BC, and last between one to one and a half hours, offering a unique opportunity to combine adventure, fun, and philanthropy. Paddlers are encouraged to bring themed costumes, weather-appropriate clothing, towels, change of clothes, and secure their glasses and electronics, while water, snacks, and enthusiasm enhance the experience. Each event provides a memorable day on the water while contributing to meaningful causes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a fun time with Big Style SUP! Five of us, old work friends, met up for a paddleboarding session, and it couldn’t have been better. The team were so chilled, friendly, and helpful, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I’ve been paddling with Big Style for two years and have brought many of my friends, we’ve all had an amazing time. Nicole’s professional and great at sharing the joy of paddling and looking after you. I love the vibes there, and the place is always clean and well maintained. You can even see seals sometimes 🦭 Definitely recommend it!!
Had the most amazing Stand-Up Paddle with BigStyle. Everything just came together for it - the weather, the tides, a lovely group of people, even the seals played ball! We had a dream paddle out to, around, and on Dalkey Island, before a paddle back in dreamy sunlight. Thanks to Chris and Bo and the rescue boat for a dream paddle that I have been wanting to do for years!
Sun, SUP, and Superb Service at BigStyle! Had an absolutely fantastic time stand-up paddleboarding with BigStyle Sunday afternoon! The weather was glorious, and it was the perfect way to soak up the sun and enjoy the water. From the get-go, the experience was top-notch. The equipment provided was in excellent condition, modern, and easy to use, which is always a plus. What really made the outing special, though, was our instructor. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, offering clear instructions and helpful tips that had everyone feeling confident on their boards in no time. Their enthusiasm was infectious! It was such a fun and refreshing way to spend an afternoon. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner looking to try something new, I can't recommend BigStyle enough. Great gear, great guidance, and guaranteed good times!
Fantastic day at Big Style SUP class on Saturday. Pleasant location &relaxed and the SUP instructor was very accomadating for everyone in the group.. Highy recommended. Will definitely be back for more classes....
