Outing - Lunchtime Fishing - Downtown

Tri-Anglers’ Lunchtime Fishing at Downtown Dock offers a classic summertime experience for individuals of all ages and abilities. Held on select Wednesdays from May through October, participants can enjoy two hours along the Allegheny River, catching and releasing a variety of fish such as bass, carp, catfish, and freshwater drum. The program welcomes both beginners and experienced anglers. Beginners receive hands-on guidance from knowledgeable staff on casting, baiting hooks, and identifying fish. Experienced anglers are encouraged to bring favorite personal gear while learning new techniques. Adaptive equipment like rod holders and wrist supports are available upon request, ensuring an accessible and enjoyable fishing experience for everyone.

During the session, staff assist with all fishing activities while maintaining safety. Each participant is guided through proper fish handling, basic knot tying, and river etiquette. The friendly, supportive environment encourages learning, experimentation, and connection with nature. Seasoned anglers often find new tips and challenges, while first-timers gain confidence and skills.
