Really lovely walk. Great views, easy incline. Waterfalls are beautiful, fun walking through the tunnels. Narrow paths can get difficult to pass when the crowds come in. Get there by 8.30 for the best experience.

The levada is great, but as on all levadas - no toilet. Come on, man, 4,5€ entrance fee and no toilet around for the whole trail!! And it’s not like you can just go off from the trail in the bushes because there’s just one path from which u can’t really go anywhere. It took us around 4,5 hours back and forth with photo stops and a picnic stop near the waterfall just before turning back. Also tunnels are a bit tricky, would be helpful to take a torch

What a lovely hike! It’s all flat, but the path can get quite narrow at times. It also gets very muddy and there are roots everywhere, so it requires some concentration. The hike is 6.8km each way, and it took us about 4 hours to complete it (including lunch breaks). There are plenty of waterfalls along the way. Bring a headlight as there are 4 tunnels - the first 3 require a headlight to see where you are stepping, as there are puddles everywhere. The last one is short enough that it’s not really needed. The last two tunnels also require crouching. The final stop is my favourite stop of all the Levadas I’ve done so far! It’s a great spot to stop for lunch. The whole hike cannot currently be finished to landslide issues.
